Flash Floods!!

Flash floods occur rapidly and are very dangerous. Just a few inches of water from a flood can cause tens of thousands of dollars in damage. A flash flood is characterized by a quickly rising stream with depths of water that can reach well above the banks of the creek. Flash floods often bring walls of water 10 to 15 feet high.

  3. I love your graph! I'm curious as to what actually causes flash floods, and why there are such high occurrences in June and July.

  4. I really like the graphing of the data. It allowed me to have a visual of the number of floods and it is clear that June is the most. Great job guys! The pictures brought me back to Sandy. Great job capturing a flash floods. Next time maybe a video showing floods coming up or the tides moving in etc....

  6. I would have thought that there would be more flash floods in April. It feels like that would be when we get the most rain.
